The USA government plans to develop direct cooperation with regions of Russia. This was announced at a press conference by Deputy Chairman and First Vice-President of the US Ex-Im Bank, Mr. Eduardo Aguirre. Ex-Im Bank is a structural subdivision of the American government.
According to Mr Aguirre, the management of the bank are now considering projects for the supply of American goods to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Bashkiria, Tatarstan and Komi under the guarantees of the regional administrations of these cities. He said that this has become possible thanks to the stabilisation of the Russian economy and increased trust in the country from world credit organisations. He also remarked that the most attractive aspects for American investors are the Russian petroleum and gas industry, telecommunications, agriculture, and banking. Mr Aguirre said that during one and a half days spent in Russia, he's managed to settle preliminary agreements on the supply of trade to the sum of approximately USD 300 million.
