Government to work out concept on gas supplies to China and Asian-Pacific region

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov ordered to accept the suggestion of the Russian Energy Ministry to work out a draft of an export policy concept regarding gas supplies to China and other countries of the Asia-Pacific region and a draft of a program for creating a unified system of gas production, gas transportation and gas supplies in the Far East and Eastern Siberia regarding possible gas exports to the markets of China and other countries of the Asia-Pacific region.

The Russian government assigned the Energy Ministry jointly with other interested federal authorities, the Gazprom gas producer and other oil and gas companies to develop and introduce to the Cabinet drafts of these concept and program and their suggestions on the implementation of the program regarding making Gazprom the coordinator of the activities for its implementation, the Government Information Department reported.
