The working group of the Russian State Council has outlined basic trends of the state youth policy till 2012 at its third meeting.
The main task of the new project "Strategy and Basic Trends of Russia's State Youth Policy for the Next 10 Years" is "to guarantee availability of the minimum of social services and goods, which young people need for socialisation and development".
The project also implies "the upbringing of patriotism and morality, the fight against the sources of extremism, crime and violence and youth's participation in state and public building".
According to Federation Council member Sergei Anokhin, the deputy head of the working group for youth policy, the project is drafted for people aged 14-30.
During the meeting chairperson of the Russian State Duma committee for women, family and youth affairs Svetlana Goryacheva proposed to envisage "state support for young families" in the project.
