The solar oil leakage in the Black Sea near Novorossiisk has been liquidated, said the administration of this largest Russian port in the eastern coast of the Black Sea.
The incident happened on Tuesday. According to the specialists' estimations, the total of about 800 kg of fuel went to the Tsemes river and then to the Black Sea.
The cause of the fuel leakage is believed to be heavy rains that hit the open reservoir containing solar oil, raised the level of water in the tun and pushed about five cubes of fuel out of it.
Specialists from the Gelenjik Sea Rescue Center of the Emergency Situations Ministry worked at the site under the support of Novorossiisk Sea administration workers. They installed barrages and special oil collecting boats gathered oil waste products from the sea surface.
