More experts to search for disappeared helicopter

An expert group from the All-Russian Civil Defence and Emergencies Science and Research Institute has arrived at the Taimyr peninsula /in Western Siberia's Polar area where the River Ob falls into the Arctic Ocean/ to search for the missing Mi-6 helicopter. The aircraft disappeared a week ago.

Experts have delivered to the site a small-size mobile radar. It has been specially designed for aerial detection of metallic objects on the surface and can be installed on a plane or helicopter. The group will start working as soon as fine weather sets in, the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported.

On July 10th, the Mi-6 helicopter set out from Dickson airport for a border station and never arrived in the destination point. There were 9 crewmen, 12 passengers and 3 tons of various cargo on board the aircraft.

The search operation involves 59 people, 5 aircraft and an all-terrain vehicle.
