Sukhoi Aviation Corp. to increase its market share up to 20%

The Sukhoi Aviation Military Production Corporation is planning to increase its share of the front-line aviation market up to 20 percent, while it currently controls 14-15 percent of this market, General Director of the aircraft company Mikhail Pogosyan said at a press conference that was dedicated to the company's participation in an airshow in Farnborough (UK).

The General Director of the aircraft company was quoted as saying that the Sukhoi Aviation Corporation has a budget of $1 billion a year, which may possibly double in the near future. The company has all required budget funds, while the development program stipulates not only the expansion of the military production, but also the expansion of the civil aircraft production. In particular, the company is currently negotiating with a number of aircraft companies to develop military aviation production, first of all SU-30 and its modifications along with SU-49, a training airplane, SU-27IB and a Russian regional airplane that will be developed in cooperation with Boeing and the Ilyushin Aviation Corporation. Speaking about the merger of Sukhoi, Ilyushin, Tupolev and Yakovlev aircraft companies, the General Director of Sukhoi Corporation pointed out that it was too soon now to talk about that. However, it will inevitably happen in the future, which is reflected in the practice of the European and the US aircraft construction companies, according to the General Director of the Sukhoi Corporation.
