The Moscow military district /MMD/ has refuted some media reports that use of Mi-8 helicopters has been banned, the MMD press-service said in a release received by RIA Novosti on Tuesday.
The information that Colonel-General Ivan Yefremov, commander of the district troops, prohibited the use, within the district, of Mi-8 army helicopters for delivering supplies to troops because of helicopters' worn condition is not true.
Mi-8 army helicopters of the district continue to fly their missions to ensure combat training and deliver vital supplies to the district's units and formations, the release stressed.
