US authorities refused an entry visa to leader of Russia’s Liberal Democratic party Vladimir Zhirinovsky, this is one of possible reasons why Zhirinovsky’s planned concert in Briton-Beach was cancelled. Today, organizers of the concert announced the cancellation of the concert, Washington’s refusal to grant an entry visa to Zhirinovsky was mentioned as a possible reason.
It was planned that Vladimir Zhirinovsky would perform a concert at the Millennium theatre in Brooklyn, in a break between the two plays “Tevye the Milkman” and “Our Decameron” on August 18. The organizers expected that the concert would be the sensation of the season; tickets for a meeting one of Russia’s most extraordinary politicians with former countrymen cost $30-50.
It is known perfectly well that former Russian citizens living in Briton-Beach evince great interest toward Zhirinovsky, so the concert would be a sure success. Organizers expected that the concert would be a commercial success as well.
A previous attempt to organize Vladimir Zhirinovsky’s concert was made two years ago, but failed because of the US State Department.
