The first stage of eliminating the aftermath of a devastating flood in the Stavropol region /Southern Russia/ has been completed.
According to the Stavropol Emergencies Commission, the restoration work involves all necessary personnel and repair and construction equipment.
Russian Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu has left Stavropol for Moscow leaving his deputy, Lieutenant-General Gennady Korotkin, in charge of works in the flood-ravaged region.
Authorities are focusing on rendering social aid to victims of the flood. Those who lost their houses have been transported to other places where all necessary conditions have been created. More than 1,200 children from the calamity zone have been sent to recreation camps.
