A serious emergency has taken place in Irkutsk airport /Siberia/. On Tuesday, the forward gear strut broke during Tu-143 airliner's landing manoeuvre. Fortunately enough, the crew managed to keep the aircraft's balance. No one was injured.
According to a duty officer of the Siberian Regional Centre /Krasnoyarsk/ of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, there were 7 crewmen and 66 passengers on-board the airliner. The Tu-134 airliner belonging to the Krasair airline was about to complete flight #587 from Krasnoyarsk to Irkutsk.
When landing /00:55 a.m. Moscow time/, the aircraft's front gear strut broke down. Although braking was not completed, the crew managed to keep the aircraft's balance.
No one was injured.
Experts have launched an investigation into the accident.
