Yevgeny Primakov, a former Russian Prime Minister and the head of the Russian Trade and Commerce Chamber, believes that Russia's accession to the World Trade Organisation /WTO/ "should not damage Russian manufactures." He made this statement at a briefing in Yekaterinburg /a city in the Urals/, which was dedicated to the discussion of the work of the Urals Trade and Commerce Chamber, the development of small business and exhibition activities in the Sverdlovsk region.
While discussing Russia's accession to the WTO, Yevgeny Primakov stated that "Russia should no doubt join the WTO." Primakov believes that this issue used to be a political one, while now all aspects of this process should be thoroughly analysed and "the Russian authorities do understand this."
