German manufacturers to strengthen cooperation between Germany and Siberian Federal district

A German delegation, led by the head of the office of the German Economic Bureau in Russia, Andrea von Knopp, arrived in Novosibirsk (the south of Western Siberia) on Tuesday.

As a RIA Novosti correspondent was told in the press service of the regional administration, the aim of this visit is to strengthen contacts between the enterprises of the Novosibirsk region and Germany. This was the topic of the conversation between governor Viktor Tolokonsky and Andrea von Knopp.

At the present time, German firms are cooperating with many enterprises in the Novosibirsk region. For instance, the Chkalov aviation production association and the Westphalica shoe-making enterprise in Novosibirsk are fitted out with German equipment. The Mayor's passenger traffic department has concluded a contract with a German firm for delivering equipment to paint the city passenger transport.

Exports to Germany are carried out by the Sibir firm, the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Novosibirsk electrode and instrument-making plants, the Stankosib company and the plant of chemical concentrates.

The Novosibirsk region has its economic office in Frankfurt am Main.
