The anti-aircraft battalion of one of the Air Defence detachments of the Siberian Military District /SibVO/ has successfully conducted missile launches against air targets on one of the Trans-Baikal testing ranges.
The event was conducted in accordance with a troops mobilisation plan of the SibVO Air Defence army, the head of the military district's press-service, Colonel Valery Scheblanin, informed.
Anti-aircraft complexes "Buk-M1" are capable of hitting a target, flying at a speed of 830 meters per second, at a distance from 3 up to 35km, and at an altitude of 15 meters to 22km.
The successful outcome of the exercises was expected, because the anti-aircraft battalion is one of the Air Defence detachments, which has for many years been the best in the Siberian Military District.
