Vladimir Putin has a number of meetings with leaders of State Duma factions and associations scheduled for Monday.
Addressing the deputies earlier in the day, the Russian president thanked them for productive work during the spring session, saying they had made a huge step forward in the past six months in their effort to promote land, tax and pension reforms.
Putin pointed out that the deputies had succeeded in "setting up legislative barriers to block terrorism." Apart from that, they adopted a number of law-related bills, including the Arbitrary Code and the Code of Procedure, a Law of Legal Profession and Judicial Institutions, a new naturalization procedure, and a Law of Russia's Central Bank.
The very list of these laws proves that the deputies have "done a colossal amount of work," noted Putin.
He also thanked the deputies for supporting the country's course of foreign policy. "The arguments offered by Duma factions and by the parliament as a whole were tremendously important and always opportune," he said.
