Vladimir Putin has pointed to the insufficient efforts to help the flood victims in southern Russia.
While speaking at a traditional Kremlin conference with government officials on Monday, the Russian President said that "to put it mildly, very mildly, our efforts are unsatisfactory." "The work, at least that I saw /during a visit to the Stavropol Territory/ is being done ineffectively," the head of state said. The president pointed to the insufficient attention to the needs of the population. "Much is yet to be done here for all the victims, in particular for the elderly," and those youths who want to become university students.
As for the restoration of the infrastructure in the regions hit by the flood - roads, gas and electricity supplies, the progress here "is more or less obvious," Putin concluded.
