Delegation of Japanese business community arrived in Novosibirsk

A delegation of the business community of Japan led by head of the economic department of the Embassy of Japan in Russia Suganuma Ken'yichi arrived in Novosibirsk (a large industrial centre in Siberia) on Monday.

As RIA Novosti was told in the press service of the regional administration, the delegation includes representatives of a number of trade and production companies, as well as banks of Japan.

The purpose of the visit it to gain an insight into the economic situation and investment climate in the region, and to establish business contacts between firms and enterprises of Japan and the Novosibirsk region.

A Round Table meeting was held at the Siberia-Hokkaido municipal cultural centre on Monday, and a meeting of the Japanese visitors with governor of the Novosibirsk region Viktor Tolokonsky will take place tonight.

On Tuesday the visitors from Japan will continue their tour of Novosibirsk.
