78 people have died in the flood in Southern Russia, according to the latest data, said the Russian emergency ministry's press service.
47 people died in the Stavropol region, 16 in the Krasnodar region, 10 in Karachayevo-Circassia, 4 in North Ossetia and 1 in Kabardino-Balkaria.
87,700 people have been evacuated from the flooded towns and cities. 42,172 of them have already returned home. Almost 301,000 people have suffered from the flood in some way.
The material damage inflicted on the region's people and economy amounts to 11 billion roubles (31.45 roubles = $1), according to preliminary estimations.
303 populated areas suffered from the flood. 7,703 houses have been destroyed, 39,155 damaged. 52,219 houses and 56 administrative buildings have been flooded.
The flood has destroyed 302.3 km of gas pipelines, 412 bridges, 1,395 km of motorways, 4.4 km of railways, 922 km of electricity transmission lines, 215 km of water pipelines and 87 water pumps.
154 settlements have problems with electricity supply.
By Friday morning 132 km of electricity transmission lines, 95 km of motorways, 22 km of water pipelines, 25 km of gas pipelines, 2.9 km of railways, 50 bridges and 11 water pumps were restored. Water supply was resumed in 66 populated areas.
