On Friday the state flag of Russia was hoisted in a formal atmosphere in the Maritime Territory (the Russian Far East) on the new ocean-going motorship Ussuri built on order of the Far-Eastern Sea Shipping Line (DVMP) by the ship-builders of Komsomolsk-on-Amur. On Friday the timber carrier ship is setting out on its first working voyage.
As RIA Novosti was told in the press service of the shipping company, the deck fitting-out of the new vessel and its running trials were carried out by the specialists of the Zvezda plant at Bolshoi Kamen town of the Maritime Territory.
The high level of automation of the new motorship makes it possible to keep a small crew on the ocean-going ship. The up-to-date electronic systems of the timber carrier enable it to sail in the sea with autopilot engaged for 16 hours.
The Ussuri is the second timber carrier motorship built at the Amursky shipyard on order of the DVMP. Sailors speak highly of the first motorship, the Amur, launched several years ago.
