Indonesia is buying ten Russian helicopters for its Navy, commander of the Indonesian Navy Admiral Bernard Kent Sondak said in an interview with the ANTARA national news agency on Monday.
According to him, the new aviation hardware - eight helicopters of the Mi-2 type and two Mi-17s - will be adopted by the Air Force of the Navy of Indonesia before December 2002.
The Admiral stressed that the Russian helicopters would make it possible to intensify the patrolling of Indonesia's sea frontiers.
