Expo 2010 will cost Russia Between 1 to 3 Billion Dollars

Russia will need between 1 and 3 billion dollars to organise the international exhibition EXPO 2010. However, this money will be recompensed two or three times over, as Deputy Mayor of Moscow Oleg Tolkachyov, who is also the director of the land and property relations, informed a Rosbalt correspondent.

He also underlined that 'the most recent technology and knowledge will be brought to the country in which the exhibition is held'. Tolkachyov remarked that at the last meeting of the international committee for EXPO 2010, 'our delegation received clear assurance that Russia can obtain the rights to hold the exhibition. However, a final decision has not been made', he said.

The deputy mayor considers that Russia is capable of organising the exhibition EXPO-2010, but for that 'we have to work as intensively as possible'. He said that other than Russia, the other countries hoping to stage the exhibition are Argentina, China, Mexico and Poland, of which the most active is China. It is a testament to the seriousness of their intentions, he said, that a position in the politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has been assigned specifically to the management of the exhibition'.
