Danish ambassador to Russia arrives in Veliky Novgorod

Danish Ambassador to Russia Lars Vissing arrived in Veliky Novgorod (Russia's North-West) on a one-day visit on Friday. This was disclosed by the Veliky Novgorod administration press-service.

The first half of the day was devoted to the meetings with regional and city administrations and particularly with Governor Mikhail Prusak. The Governor proposed Vissing to hold a session of the EU diplomatic missions, scheduled for September, in Veliky Novgorod.

The Novgorod region accommodates three companies with Danish capital. Two companies: Dirol and Stimorol Chewing Gum are producing chewing gum and Infochain conducts marketing and advertising in the sphere of informational technologies.

Novgorod and the Danish Ministry of the Environment Protection developed close and fruitful relations. Thanks to the Danish governmental financing, the construction and modernization of biologic cleaning systems was completed.

The Danish Ambassador will visit Dirol, which according to the statistics of 2000-2001 was the major tax-payer of the Novgorod region. Moreover, the Danish Ambassador will have a sightseeing tour of the city and visit Novgorod Kremlin, St.Sofia's Cathedral, history and arts museums.
