India is interested in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and "sounds the opportunity of closer acquaintance via the Foreign Ministry," Russian President Vladimir Putin told a press conference, following the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, which includes Russia, China and former Soviet republics - Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Vladimir Putin has a positive attitude to the possibility of India's joining the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
According to the Russian leader, "different levels of cooperation are envisaged" within the SCO framework.
"We have to make a joint decision on our cooperation with partners, which are not registered as the SCO members," the Russian President concluded.
