The work of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation will be devoted to counter-terrorism, Russian Foreign Ministry's official spokesman Alexander Yakovenko told journalists.
According to him, an agreement on the regional anti-terrorist structure has been prepared for the forthcoming summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in St. Petersburg. It will be a permanent body on coordination of activities of the relevant law enforcement agencies of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member-states (China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan), he noted.
The Charter of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation will also be signed during the summit in St. Petersburg in order to create its international-legal basis, Yakovenko stressed. In addition, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation leaders are expected to sign a political declaration.
