The 7th Russian economic forum which opened in Yekaterinburg (Urals) on Wednesday is devoted to the problems of economic integration of the CIS countries.
Economists, industrialists and scientists of the CIS countries are participating in the forum. The delegations from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Moldova arrived in Yekaterinburg.
Listed among the themes of the forum are formation of a single economic space, the financial-banking aspects of economic integration, unification of the legal-contractual base, the creation of a single information space within the CIS, Russia's role in economic integration, and the problems of the regions.
Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Eduard Rossel opened the forum. Not accidentally, the problems of economic integration within the framework of the CIS countries have been submitted for discussion at the forum. More than a decade has passed since the breakup of the former Union, and over this time all of us have come to understand that we have a common economic field, Rossel said.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Andrei Denisov read out the greeting by chairman of the government Mikhail Kasyanov to the forum participants. The telegrams of greeting to the participants in the forum were sent by State Duma Speaker Gennady Seleznev, Federation Council Chairman Sergei Mironov, and plenipotentiary representative of the president of Russia in the Ural federal district Petr Latyshev.
Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Yuri Yarov and secretary of the National Economic Council governor Eduard Rossel delivered reports at the plenary meeting.
