Police dog finds a rifle at Novosibirsk terminal

In the Western Siberian city of Novosibirsk, a police dog picked up the smell of gunpowder and discovered a pump rifle in the cloak-room of a local railway terminal, reported the press service of the railway police.

On Wednesday, the police special task force cordoned off the right wing of the Novosibirsk terminal and evacuated everyone who was there -- all because an Alsatian called York had indicated the presence of explosives in a large camouflage-colored bag. This happened during an operation Transport-16, which involved a search through the cloak-room.

Police brought in a special apparatus, which too showed the presence of an explosive. Inside the bag, which belonged to a security guard from a chemical pharmaceutical plant, there were a 12 mm pump rifle and 5 cartridges.

Since it is forbidden to keep weapons in the cloak-room, the owner will have to answer for this violation.
