The two-house parliament of Kirghizia Zhogorku Kenesha approved Thursday the candidacy of Nikolai Tanayev forwarded by the country's president.
Tanayev, formerly the first vice-premier, was acting prime minister.
The Kirghizian Security Council ruled resignation of the former prime minister, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, and his government on May 22nd. The Security Council considered conclusions of the state commission in charge of the investigation into the tragic events in the Aksyisky district on March 17th. On that day, during the dispersal of a protest rally five people were killed and over 80 received wounds.
