Fires burn on 94,000 hectares of woods on Russian territory

As of today, 294 forest fires are raging on an aggregate area of 94,000 hectares of Russian land, reported the press service of the Russian emergencies ministry.

The biggest fires were reported from the Far Eastern region. On the Khabarovsk territory, 18 fires are raging on an aggregate area of 52,000 hectares. The Kamchatka, Sakhalin, and Amur regions report about 7,500 hectares of burning woods. 20 fires are consuming the woods in the Sakha Republic. More than 7,860 hectares of woods are burning in the Siberian region.

According to the emergencies ministry, the firefighting effort involves 4,000 people, 662 pieces of equipment, and 62 aircraft.
