Petronas Gas the gas unit of the Malaysian state owned oil and gas company, has said that its gas plant has resumed to full production after an explosion that killed three workers earlier in May.
The plant in the state of Terengganu on the east coast of Malaysian Peninsular processes gas before the gas is piped to power plants and industrial users in Malaysia and the neighboring Singapore. Three other workers were injured by the fire.
“Yes, we are” running at the usual level now, said Abdul Hamid Ibrahim, the chief executive of Petronas Gas, after attending the three day Gasex 2002 conference in Brunei. He declined to elaborate on the situation.
Petronas has six gas processing units in Terengganu. Five of them have the capacity to each process two hundred and fifty million cubic feet of gas a day. The other two are able to each process as much as five hundred million cubic feet of gas a day, according to Petronas' Website.
