Russia's president Vladimir Putin finds the decision to expel the State Duma speaker Gennady Seleznev from the Communist party of Russia "strange", he said when speaking at the 5th congress of the European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions.
"Yesterday Gennady Seleznev was expelled from the Communist party for intense and rather efficient activity", he recalled, stressing that he does not want to interfere with the party's interior life.
The president expressed his hope that the State Duma speaker would now concentrate on state work and would pay more attention to controlling the use of budget money.
