Petroleum Geo-Services Announce New Multi Client 2D Seismic Survey

Petroleum Geo-Services in co-operation with the Government of the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Oil and Gas, are pleased to announce that a new Multi-Client 2D seismic survey in open Blocks 18 and 41, Gulf of Oman, MC2D-GO2002.

The survey is a regional 2D grid covering the entire blocks 18 and 41 in water depths of fifty to three thousand metres. The MC2D-GO2002 survey, which is approximately 6,000 square kilometers in size, will be tied into the existing seismic database. The acquisition will be carried out during the second quarter of 2002, and the acquisition in Block 41 was completed in mid May. The final processed data will be available in October and November 2002. Additionally, 3,600 kilometers of reprocessed data covering principally the coastal region from 50-1,000 meters water depths will be available in the third quarter of 2002.
