The creation of a common European economic zone will be discussed at the Russian-EU summit in Moscow on May 29th, said Spain's ambassador to Russia Jose Maria Robles Fraga at a press conference in RIA Novosti. Spain is the EU chairman in this half-year.
The cooperation between Moscow and the EU in the energy sphere will be among the priorities at the summit, the diplomat said. The EU's main objective is to obtain stable oil and gas imports and it is interested in the lifting of any limitations on Russia's supplies to Europe, he said.
At the summit the Russian party is planning to pay special attention to working out a specific mechanism for cooperation with the EU in the agreed directions, according to the RIA Novosti data. Among these are developing the infrastructure for oil and gas export, physical safety of transport systems, and judicial protection of oil and gas supplies.
