On May 15-16, Russian Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu will be chairing the meeting of emergencies ministers of the countries parties to Black Sea Economic Cooperation organization (BSEC). The press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported it to RIA Novosti on Tuesday. The meeting will be focusing on the issue how to improve the mechanism of reaction to emergencies. It will also look at the cooperation in developing and applying the advanced technologies to eliminate the consequences of serious accidents, catastrophes and fires. During the meeting the participants will be discussing the issue of using planes to extinguish fires, medical assistance and humanitarian mine clearing. BSEC countries will be represented by the heads of Albania's Ministry of Public Order, Armenia's Department for Emergencies, Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry, Bulgaria's Civil Defence Agency, Greece's Interior Ministry, Georgia's Foreign and Interior Ministries, Moldova's Foreign Ministry and Department for Civil Defence and Emergencies, Romania's Civil Defence Staff, the Turkish Public Work and Housing Ministry. The Ukrainian Ministry for Emergencies and Affairs of Population Protection from the Consequences of the Chernobyl Catastrophe will also be taking part.
