Armed robbers have stolen a reported $1 million worth of jewellery from Tiffany's, Sydney's most exclusive jeweller, in a brazen daylight hold-up. Tiffany and Co customers and staff were ordered to lie on the floor by two men armed with a pistol and a sledgehammer who walked into the store about 10.45am on Saturday. The men smashed display cases and grabbed the jewellery before fleeing the scene in a Subaru Impreza with stolen number plates, police said. Police would not disclose the exact worth of the jewellery taken from the store, in Chifley Plaza on the corner of Hunter and Phillip Streets in central Sydney.
