Russian regional energy utility Krasnoyarskenergo will not shut off electricity at KrAZ (Krasnoyarsk aluminum company) today, Tatyana Velichko, the press secretary of the sales department of the energy utility, announced. As we reported earlier, a representative of the RAO UES sales department promised at a briefing on May 4 that they would shut off electricity at KrAZ on May 10 in the event the factory does not take any measures to repay its debt for electricity. However, the court prohibited electricity shut off or the reduction in electricity supplies to KrAZ. As of now, the debt of the aluminum factory for electricity amounts to 814m rubles ($28.12m). Krasnoyarskenergo limited supplies to the aluminum factory by 20 per cent on May 4, which inflicted $1m damage to KrAZ, according to the Russky Alyuminy company.
