Chinese authorities invited Vostokgazprom, a subsidiary of the Russian gas monopolist Gazprom, to invest in the construction of the so-called Western gas corridor, a 4,200 km-long gas pipeline. The press secretary of Vostokgazprom reported to RBC that a corresponding suggestion was made during negotiations between representatives of Vostokgazprom, Gazprom and representatives of the largest Chinese companies. The Western gas corridor will pass through eight provinces of China to Shanghai. Chinese representatives were also interested in Gazprom's technologies of gas production.
