Russia is no longer an enemy of the US, but defense problems of the future remain and they must be addressed, US Assistant Secretary of State, Marc Grossman, said Tuesday in a statement made in the Brussels-based NATO headquarters following consultations with the North Atlantic Council. Grossman, along with US Assistant National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, had led a team of experts to Brussels for consultations on the ABM-related issues with US' NATO allies. The Assistant Secretary of State said US President George W. Bush had made himself clear enough on the necessity of cooperation with Russia in his May 1 speech. The US delegation was discussing with NATO allies new options of cooperation with Russia. Grossman reminded that Stephen Hadley and Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz would fly to Moscow Friday for US-Russian consultations.
