Russian frontier-guard wounded by Taliban

The situation sharply deteriorated yesterday on the Afghan-Tajik border. As PRAVDA.RU has already reported, the clashes between Northern Alliance and Taliban troops took place in the immediate vicinity to the border line. As a result, a Russian border-guard was lightly wounded. It is not for the first time that stray bullets hit Russian soldiers who do their military service in Tajikistan. It looks like the border post was fired at intentionally this time. According to latest reports, Taliban troops have managed to seize a strategically important city of Yakaolang which was until recently held by the Northern Alliance.
