President Emomali Rakhmonov of Tajikistan is sure that the current Dushanbe session of the Council of Ministers of member-states of the Economic Cooperation Organisation /ECO/ which unites countries of southwestern and central Asia will further consolidate peace and stability in the region, says the message of greetings of the Tajik President to participants in the 11th session of the ECO Council of Ministers which opened Friday in the Tajik capital. Rakhmonov called the current session "a new stage on the road of further expanding the traditionally friendly relations between peoples and states" of the ECO. He also stressed that holding the session in Tajikistan suggests the attention of all ECO member-countries to the country's problems. The Tajik President expressed confidence that "the meeting will be a practical step to the expansion of integration processes." Speaking at the forum's opening ceremony, Tajik Foreign Minister Tolbak Nazarov noted that it would be necessary to discuss such "urgent issues as the expansion of efficient economic cooperation, interaction, mutual understanding and coordination the activity of our states in various spheres." The Economic Cooperation Organisation incorporates Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmeniya, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
