A Chechen Detained In Daghestan Suspected Of Participation In Armed Band Of Separatists

At check point Yagar-Kazmalyar in Daghestan (Russia's republic in the Northern Caucasus) Rusam Machigov, an inhabitant of village Beno-Yurt (Zaterechny district), who tried to enter the territory of Azerbaijan, was detained on Friday. According to the press service of the Northern Caucasus regional department of Russia's Federal frontier service, he was detained by the border guards on suspicion of belonging to militants of separatist armed formation. One of Machigov's legs is amputated, while the other leg has scars of splinter wounds. Check is currently underway. The press service also said that in early May another two inhabitants of Chechnya who had tried to cross the Azeri border, were detained on suspicions of participation in illegal armed formations. Since the year's beginning, about 60 detentions have been recorded at the border check points of Daghestan.
