Iraq, Belarus Sign Protocol On Bilateral Cooperation

Iraq and Belarus signed Wednesday a protocol on bilateral cooperation in the spheres of trade, economy, health care and finance. From the Iraqi side the protocol was signed by vice-premier and finance minister Hikmat Mizban Ibrahim al-Azzawi and from the Belarussian side - by first deputy head of the republic's presidential administration Vladimir Zametalin. At the signing ceremony the Iraqi vice-premier noted that a great progress has been achieved in bilateral relations and the cooperation between the two countries conquers more and more new spheres. An agreement on establishing air communications between Baghdad and Minsk has already been signed, Mr al-Azzawi reminded. In his turn Vladimir Zametalin noted that Minsk intends to further follow the way of developing cooperation between Belarus and Iraq despite some countries' efforts to impede the process. According to Zametalin, independent policy pursued by both countries made them an object of aggressive plans.
