Russian Prime Minister Speaks About Transformations In National Economy

Russia ended last year with noticeable business recovery in its economy and was able to stick to positive trends. However, positive factors in the economy will sooner or later wear off, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov told the session of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade on Friday. According to him, it is important to switch as soon as possible over to a different model of development based on larger investments and greater domestic demand. Mikhail Kasyanov singled out from system transformations, which are being developed by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, fundamental changes in land relations, the removal of administrative barriers, the elaboration of measures to reform the energy sector, railway transport, the housing and utilities sector. According to Kasyanov, in the near future it will be necessary to solve serious tasks requiring a conceptual approach in these directions. The price of errors is as high as never before, the head of the Russian government said. Unfortunately, as the Premier admitted, there are attempts to resolve these serious tasks hurriedly, without a detailed analysis. Mikhail Kasyanov urged to pay close attention to that. He stressed that the undertakings of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade are the bricks in the foundation of the economy.
