Russian companies produced 27.6m tons of oil in March 2001, which is 6.9 per cent more as compared to the corresponding period last year, the State Statistics Committee reported. In addition, they processed 15.1m tons of oil, 2.4m tons of gasoline, 4.3m tons of diesel oil and 222,000 tons of ubricating oil. The largest rise in comparison with March 2000 was registered in the volume of gasoline production (10.2 per cent), black and diesel oil (2.8 per cent) and lubricating oil (8.1 per cent). All in all, the volume of oil processing went up 2.4 per cent in Russia in March 2001.
