It is expected that on Monday Mikhail Gorbachev will meet in Washington US President George Bush and US Secretary of State Colin Powell. As this RIA Novosti correspondent reports, a source in the delegation accompanying the ex-president of the USSR in the trip to the USA said this on Sunday. In a talk with journalists Mikhail Gorbachev earlier said that his "meetings in the White House, the Department of State and the US Congress are slated to be held" during his stay in Washington. According to him, "an essential talk will be held" at these meetings. Gorbachev pointed out that he intends to discuss the state of Russian-US relations in which, as he said, it's high time that "a new agenda" emerge to preserve everything positive and constructive that has been achieved by the two nations.
