Rumours appeared in Moscow again that former President of Russia Boris Yeltsin was taken to the central clinical hospital in critical condition. According to preliminary information, Yeltsin has been in critical condition over the last week. Thus, a source in the Presidential Administration reported to journalists yesterday that “Yeltsin’s state of heath worsened suddenly after 2:00 p.m.” However, no official information concerning this matter appeared over the next several hours. Later, Personal Secretary of the Ex President Vladimir Shevchenko announced that Yeltsin had gone through a planned medical check yesterday. Doctors say, he is much better now, Shevchenko emphasised. As of now, the Ex President is in his residence. However, rumours concerning Yeltsin’s poor condition have been actively discussed earlier. Last time, this happened at the end of February and the beginning of March. Several mass media sources were reporting then that the state of health of the former President had worsened and he had been put on a respirator, RBC reports. However, rumours remain rumours. And the time hasn’t come yet for preparing for an official obituary notice. Especially since this concerns Boris Yeltsin, whom Yabloko leader Grigory Yavlinsky described in the 90s saying that “He will catch a cold at your funeral.”
