United Kingdom: Blair victory almost certain

The British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, should easily win the forthcoming general election on June 7th, according to a recent opinion poll. The daily newspaper, Daily Telegraph, published the results of the opinion poll, which gives Tony Blair’s Labour Party a 26-point lead over his main rival, William Hague’s Conservatives. This lead would give Labour 53% of the vote, compared with 27% for the Conservatives. The other political parties in the UK, namely the Liberal-Democrats, Scottish Nationalists, Welsh Nationalists and Northern Irish regional parties, will share the remaining 20% of the vote.
