New catastrophe threatens to Chernobil nuclear power plant?

Valentin Kupniy, the former director of “Ukriye” (“cover”) unit of Chernobil nuclear power plant, warned the community about the possibility of a new disaster in Chernobil. In his interview for German magazine Focus he has said that the sarcophagus, built under the destroyed reactor, can ruin anytime. Besides, radioactive rejections constantly get to the environment through the cracks in the concrete wall, Kupniy said. He has paid attention to the fact that for the time being experts know nothing about the process, which goes on inside the sarcophagus.
