Sergey Stephanov: launching a war in Macedonia, USA tried to overcome the crisis

The armed conflict, which burst out at the beginning of the current year in Macedonia, was caused by a few reasons. One of them is evident economic recession in USA, lasting for a year at least. Companies declare decline in profits; difference between profitability of American and European bonds disappears, etc. According to experts, collapse really threatens to US dollar as a world currency. The United States fail to overcome the crisis by legal means. Therefore they try to do it by means of military operations, development of military industry. As everybody knows, this is the best way out of crisis. Americans have already resorted to it during the Kosovo conflict, during the war in Persian Gulf, etc. It is extremely important for Americans to raise the risk of investment in other currencies, first of all, in euro. It might be done by means of another humanitarian disaster in the centre of Europe. As everyone knows, there are a lot of various extremist groups in Balkans. They have different leaders and different concrete purposes, however their directing centre is situated in Kosovo. The United States have true “friends” in Kosovo, Albanian militants UCK - and escalation of the conflict began when in was required. Macedonia has played a part of a hostage. As soon as fighting against Albanian terrorists in Tetovo had begun, American soldiers of KFOR, dislocated in this area, left Kosovo. Military contingent of many thousands was watching small Macedonian army struggling against the rebels. Washington has not rendered assistance to Macedonia and left this task for Europeans. However if the members of European Union slid into the armed conflict, the number of Albanian extremists would only grow with the help of Washington. The profit of the American treasury would grow as well, as a result of both investment, aimed to remove the “consequences”, and billions of dollars, invested in defence establishment. European economy would suffer the same damage, as it was during Kosovo conflict in 1999. However instead of it, members of EU just signed an agreement on stabilisation and association with Macedonia. As a result, Macedonia becomes the first state of the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, to get a real chance to join EU. The Development Bank of the European Council sent 1 million euro to refugees as humanitarian aid. OSCE proposes series of political measures to reduce inter-ethnical tension in the area of the conflict. But it is clear that they will scarcely manage to return Macedonia to its former quiet condition. But it is known for sure that the United States are “having a rest”, because the arrangement of additional armed groups of Albanians to send them to Macedonia is not required now. Meanwhile, according to the most of recent researches, by this summer dollar’s rate with respect to euro should drop to the level of 1:1.
