Leader of the Moldovan Communist party Vladimir Voronin was elected president of Moldova today. According to the Constitution of Moldova, the president is elected by the parliament. 71 out of 89 deputies of the Moldovan parliament supported his candidacy, RBC announces. Earlier, the Communist Party won parliamentary elections in the republic and received the largest number of seats in the parliament - 71 out of 101.
