It turns out that Boris Yeltsin is not the only politician who can take Paraguay’s ambassador for Uruguay’s ambassador and have a conversation with him, as anecdote story says. Such incident happened to NATO Secretary General George Robertson as he arrived in Poland. He has started his press conference by saying that he is greeting Moscow. Apparently, he took one country for the other. A burst of laughter in the room did not confused him, and he continued with his conversation with journalists. Nobody knows, what provoked the head of NATO into making such a mistake. Maybe likeness between Polish and Russian languages or geographical location of the countries influenced him… But the fact is that in the course of the conference he mentioned Russia a few times. Even talking about the situation in Macedonia he called Boris Traikovsky, the president of this country, Chaikovsky. Maybe he has listened too much music by Chaikovsky overnight?
