Foot-and-mouth in Germany?

A suspected case of foot and mouth disease has been found in a German pig farm close to the Dutch border. Two dead piglets from a farm with 700 animals in the village of Kleve, one of which had suffered a high fever and one which had blisters on its snout, were suspected of having contracted the infectious disease, a spokesman for the municipality of Goch on the Dutch border is qouted by Reuters as saying. The animals were imported from the Netherlands, which has been hit by foot and mouth disease, before February 1st. Germany has so far been free of the disease, and there have been several scares which were not confirmed. First test results are expected on Saturday.
